Haus1

Discover the history and life of former times in the Rhineland-Palatinate open-air museum. Located in the beautiful scene of a valley called "Nachtigallental", this museum precisely shows how people in the Rhineland-Palatinate lived and worked during the last few centuries.
Four (4) museum villages have been reconstructed and all of them demonstrate the different landscapes of the Rhineland-Palatinate.

Nearly 40 historical buildings from different regions were removed brick by brick and stone by stone within the last years and rebuilt at the museum site true to the original and furnished in great detail afterwards.

A locksmith's and a clockmaker's workshop, a barber's shop, a butchery, a school and a bakery, vineyard houses and farmsteads invite to make a trip into the past.
On a regular basis the baker bakes bread in the old bakery, the smith and the carpenter demonstrate their daily work in former times. Horses, sheeps, free-range chicken, geese as well as a bee hive live in the garden of the museum.

Alte Post

The museum's restaurant caters for a wide range of hefty regional dishes.
A children's playground for the youngest visitors is located next to the museum's restaurant.
